The WCCA recognises traditional ownership and provides community with a range of benefits, including but not limited to: employment, training, cultural heritage and site protection, cultural awareness, support for ranger programs and educational bursaries, relinquishment of land, and a royalty stream to charitable trusts for community benefit purposes.

Rio Tinto (RT) provides Direct Employment and/or Traineeships for approved applicants from the Traditional Owner Groups who were party to the WCCCA. The 11 Traditional Owner Groups of the WCCCCA are: Alngith, Anathanangayth, Ankamuthi, Peppan, Taepadhighi, Thanikwithi, Tjungundji, Warranggu, Wathayn, Wik and Wik-Waya and Yupungathi. As a part of the application process for these RT opportuities, you will need to complete and submit the forms on the right.

Rio Tinto Weipa invites your company to submit a response to the attached Request for Quotation (RFQ) WS1177863102 in relation to the supply of raising of the Lorim Point fuel lines from underground to aboveground. There is a separate attachment of drawings totalling ~30MB in size which will have to be sent separately. Would your company be interested in tendering? If so, please contact me and I will send through the additional drawings. Please submit your quote to the undersigned no later than 5pm on Friday 15 December 2017.
